I bought this after an online conversation with the author, and found it rather slow. It's just as much an atmospheric picture of life in rural America as a crime story, and i'm not really into rural America in fiction which is why it was a mistake for me. Some aspects have stuck in my mind despite this. Plenty of people out there who have loved it anyway!

Wow!! I seen this book in the Richard & Judy Book Club books and thought ok i'll give it a go. I was surprised at how much i enjoyed it. It's a beautiful/haunting book.
