This book could be great, if only the author would get off of the fence and decide to be clever or spiritual. As it stands, it is mostly boring. (I spent most of my time speed-scanning the pages for worthy anecdotes or experiences, which were few and far between.) His editor should have made him choose between:
1. a Danny Wallace-style humour book which makes fun of all the Old Testament proscribed rituals or
2. a spiritual awakening to the benefits of following the Bible's ethical advice.
I would have enjoyed either, if for different reasons. But he just alternates between cynacism and faith, which just makes both the humour and the devotion seem out-of-place and, ultimately, boring.
