This is the first book in a new series, readers will liken it to Sherlock Holmes, it is set in Victorian England, the main character is Cyrus Barker and his assistant a Welshman named Thomas Llewelyn who is newly out of prison and unable to find work was thinking of committing suicide when Cyrus hires him. This is a fantastic new series, I loved it and have finished reading all but the latest.
