Reviews: Carol (USA: PA) (2007/10/07):
very, very good historial novel. Even though I was shocked to see that this book is 661 pages, I finished fast & would like to read more of Philippa Gregory's books. Great writing.

Whitney (USA: OR) (2008/01/28):
This book was fascinating, I could hardly put it down. I finished the 661 pages in two days. I highly recommend it!

Denise (USA: NY) (2008/02/28):
Insipid junk. A lot of whining in it. Although I know its fiction and not written as an historical document, there are so many inaccuracies that labelling it as historical fiction is way off the mark. I guess I didn't like it:)

sammy (USA: NJ) (2008/04/22):
Loved this book. I became really attached to the characters and felt like I knew them. This is a great author. You will never want this book to end!

Amy (USA: MA) (2008/06/10):
I bought this book after the movie came out, but I still haven't seen the movie. I had a hard time in my mind relating the actresses to the characters, just knowing who played which sister. But once I could ignore that...I loved this book. It's very long and takes more than half way through to really get sucked into it, but it's very entertaining. I only hope the movie is half as good!!

Mary M. (USA: TX) (2008/07/17):
Loved this book! Had a hard time putting it down.

Karen (Australia) (2009/04/13):
I loved this book! I'm not normally into history but this book drew me in without me realizing it! Though it's a big book - lot's of pages I found it hard to put down once I'd started.

Jackie (USA: VA) (2009/09/17):
I loved the story. I heard from other reviews that there was or will be a movie based on it. If anyone knows anything about it, please let me know. I know that this is "historical fiction" and there are probably a lot of inaccuracies in it, but what I found fascinating and unsettling is the way that women were treated like merchandise in those days. I really enjoyed it. Good reading.
