This picture pack accompanies a teacher's book designed to support low-attaining and special needs pupils who are following National Curriculum Geography in England, Wales and Northen Ireland or Environmental Studies in Scotland. The market for the material is Y8 National Curriculum Geography and S2-S3 Environmental Studies 5-14 (People and Places). These pictures support the second book in the series. It is a flexible resource, providing a bank of photocopiable worksheets for Y8 pupils and designed to complement existing textbook-based courses in schools, or to be a self-contained Geography course in its own right. Together with the Teacher's Resource Book, it provides various flexible schemes of work that should suit the majority of classroom situations, whatever the pupils' level of achievement. Pathway 1 is for pupils who have severe difficulties with reading; pathway 2 is for lower-achieving pupils who can, nonetheless, cope with a certain amount of carefully-targetted reading and writing; and pathway 3 is for pupils who are following a textbook-based course, but who need additional support in the form of differentiated pupil-tasks which are targetted on specific skills, themes or case studies.
