Tim Harris (United Kingdom) (2006/07/27): It has been a while since I read James Gleick's faster, so my impressions are vague. The bright yellow cover with bold black text sticks out from the shelf, but I have not picked it up more than once... The authors style makes this an easy read covering lots of statistics about how modern society chooses to spend its time. The author spends most of his time talking about the contradictions in modern life, like the Microwave only saves 4 minutes a day. The 320 page Faster is definitely a quick read.
