Sabrina is trapped between two loves: Martin, the Tory, and Richard, the buckskin rebel. She ends up betraying the first to pass information to Francis Marion. The setting, British-occupied Charleston in 1780, is fairly well drawn, but the characters are stock, and the dialogue horrific. The story doesn't ring true entirely, and there's too much gazing into each other's eyes. However, there's also lots of historical information to absorb and a certain amount of suspense.
