WelshHelen (United Kingdom) (2008/11/03): This was an "Okay" book. It started very promisingly, with the danger, mystery and suspence being ratcheted up word by word (though I was surprised at some of Koontz's very flowery prose!) but unfortunately, there was a bit of a damp squib of an ending, which seemed to happen very quickly. I also didn't quite get all the T.S. Eliot quotes and their use by some of the characters - I'm sure it was supposed to be deep and meaningful but only became tedious by the middle of the book.Luckily, I liked the main characters though we didn't really get to know Neil or see him do very much apart from follow Molly around. The more I think about it, the more disappointed I am in this book and I've moved the ranking down from 8 to 6 out of 10.
Darlene E. Neiser (USA: TX) (2009/06/09): Great book; fast moving with an unknown enemy. The main characters must endure fear, hopelessness, and confusion. We see the goodness and endurance of man; the best of our character shows up in adversity.
