Venassa (Canada) (2007/08/16): Amazing book. Definitely my favorite. Had me interested from the beginning. I read it twice in high school and I can't wait to get around to reading the copy that I finally bought a few weeks ago. alisonk (Cyprus) (2008/02/11): Not as good as the prince of tides but quite readable EdB (2for1) (USA) (2008/04/14): Honestly wasn't expecting much (did not care for Prince of Tides). But this book hooked me from the git-go. Excellent plot, good characterizations, and easily one of the best reads for me in a long time. Zoe (France) (2009/08/22): I got really pulled in to this book, which turns out to be much more thought-provoking than it first strikes. A good strong story and very convincing characterisation, plus a fascinating glimpse into the faded glory of the southern states. Janet (USA: DE) (2009/10/02): Very good read. I hated it to come to an end.
