Back cover:

"Wonder and whimsy....[The Cat Who novels are] ideal bedtime tales for grown-ups" --Los Angeles Times.
"Most detectives do thier legwork on two legs. A few, however, do it on four..." --The Associated Press

Good thing prizewinning reporter Jim Qwilleran has his extraordinary Siamese cats Koko and Yum Yum to smell trouble from a mile away...

The town of Pickax is buzzing with excitement: its residents are about to celebrate the 150th anniversary of its founding. But in the midst of all the preparations, Qwill has to take time out to entertain aspiring architect Harvey Ledield-and deal with Koko's strange new habit. Because the Simese star has started ropping from balconies and landing in the oddest of places, including on Harvey's head! And now that Harvey's aunt and uncle have nysteriously gone missing, Qwill better brush up on his paw language before Pickax is hit with a bombshell...

"A Master of Mystery." --People

"Read these books if you want to forget your troubles." -Fort Myers Beach Bulletin

"Anyone who has ever exclaimed, 'Cats!' with a mixture of affection, frustration, and admiration is bound to fall (or has already fallen) for this venerable series." -Booklist

i thought it had alot of people to remeber names of in the book but that is fine

Robert Pleban (USA: FL) (2009/04/06):
I'm shaking my head here. I have never gotten into this series, but it obviously is hugely popular. My objections? While Braun gets the small-town atmosphere correct, the mystery is almost non-existent. When they do occur, you don't even get to see the victim; so-and-so tells so-and-so that someone has died. Absolutely bloodless for a murder mystery, if you ask me, and dull as dishwater.
