I've read a few horror books by Streiber before, but was unsure, based on the cover blurb, where this would be going. However, it turned out to be an excellent alien invasion story, with the aliens coming through from another dimension. It begins at an earthen mound near town where a woman's screaming brings people...but nothing it found. Then other things begin happening, and it escalates quickly. A fine read.
