Jeremy (USA: OR) (2011/06/11): This is a strange Follett novel, certainly unlike anything else he's written. The focus is on hippies living in a commune, driven by extreme conditions to commit an unusual and heinous crime. Even the setting -- the southwestern U.S. -- is an atypical choice for Follett. However, despite straying from his usual M.O., the book does not disappoint. The characters are developed fully and colorfully, the story is riveting, and the plot twists and details are clever and convincing. I'd recommend this book to both Follett fans and those just starting out on his works.
