The Dark Place finds forensic anthropologist Gideon Oliver on a trail that stretches from prehistoric times--to present danger.
Lynne (USA: CO) (2011/07/05): Second Gideon Oliver mystery---before there was CSI, before any of the numerous forensic specialists, there was Gideon Oliver. This series has "worn" well in spite of new science and all of the many detectives and copycat investigators. In addition, Gideon is likeable, as are the characters that surround him. The first book of the series is the weakest, as it seems often is the case. By the second and subsequent books, he hits his stride (Elkins and Oliver) and the books are a great fun read.
