Possession was never this much fun

Trust me or die…That’s the choice Morgan Kingsley, exorcist, is given by the gorgeous rogue demon who’s gotten inside her. The truth is, Morgan has dozens of reasons not to trust anyone, from the violence that torched her house and killed her father to a love life that’s left her questioning her relationship with her erstwhile boyfriend, Brian. But Lugh, a king among demons, won’t take no for an answer. He’s prying into her body, her mind, even her sex life. And he’s just pulled Morgan into a power struggle that could have devastating consequences for both the human and demon worlds.

But Morgan still has a job to do: investigating the highly bizarre possession of the son of a wealthy Philadelphia couple. That hunt leads Morgan into a realm of sexual depravity, then a terrifying kidnapping.… Now a woman who makes her living prying demons from their hosts finds her day job colliding with the night: a darkness that is attracting demons of the damnedest sort, including the one who’s about to demand his ultimate due.…
Reviews: Jaxon (USA: MI) (2008/12/20):
I just finish the third novel in Jenna Black’s Morgan Kingsley series, The Devil’s Due, and honestly, this series just keeps getting better and better. I don’t know what else I could say that I haven’t already said in my reviews of The Devil Inside or The Devil You Know.

The character development is flawless; the action is there but it’s not so intense that it drowns out the character development; and the ongoing plot is addictive. Seriously, just when you think you know what is going on, Black throws in a curve ball and completely spins you out of control. You can tell we are being taken somewhere, but it’s not a straight line and all the detours are fabulous.

In The Devil’s Due, Morgan is trying to cope with the circumstances surrounding her father’s death and the involvement of her demon, Lugh, and lover, Brian. In addition, Lugh has started demanding that Morgan work on trying to let him take over when the situation warrants it. Morgan isn’t crazy about that idea, but she does see the benefits and does try. On top of all of this, she gets dragged into a demon possession issue that has bad idea written all over it.

Overall, I will be anxiously awaiting the next installment of the Morgan Kingsley series to come out because Black has my attention and I so want to keep it on her. The one thing about The Devil’s Due that I wasn’t expecting was the appearance of a certain demon at the end. I didn’t think I would ever get to meet this demon and now I will when Speak of the Devil comes out next year. The dynamics of all the characters have just changed and I’m not sure how this is going to affect Morgan yet. Whatever happens, this is one series you shouldn’t be missing, so I highly suggest you start catching up.

Kelly Brookbank (United Kingdom) (2009/04/21):
What a great follow on from "The Devil You Know", I was expecting the story line to begin to conclude, seeing as book 4 is out soon, assuming it's the finale to this series. The plot just gets more complicated, Morgan has to make decisions that affect more than just her feelings. Adam, Lugh, Dominic, Raphael and Andy are back again in this series. You get to hear more of Raphael , Morgan's repugnance having to take a back seat.

Fab Read, can't wait for the next to be released!
