This book is being compared to Gabaldon's "Outlander" series. There is no comparison - Outlander is better. While Master of the Highlands has the same concept as Outlander (girl traveling through time to Scotland where they are fighting the English while falling in love with the lord of the clan) - Master reads more like a Harlequin instead of an action, adventure, romance, historical and humorous novel where you really fall in love with the characters and can't wait to see what is waiting for them up ahead.I picked up this book because it was was being compared to Outlander, but it's not something I would recommend to anyone who is an Outlander fan. Needless to say, I will not be picking up the sequels to Master of the Highlands.
