Reviews: Woosang (Australia) (2007/04/07):
I loved re-reading Hui CLos again and was delighted to rediscover this play in my native english. The last time I read it, I was studying it for the Yr11 exams in 1989.

This book has 4 plays within its covers. The first being No Exit, three people find themsleves in a small room, and are at first puzzled about the missing torture implements.

The second play, The Flies to me was unreadable. Don't know exactly why, possibly it was too long, or I just didn't like the basic story. Anyway didn't finish it.

The thrid play, Dirty Hands is a young intellectual who joins a revolutionary party demands to do more dirty work. When he is given the chance he almost fumbles it but when he carries it out, he sends the rest of the time regretting it.

The last play, the repectable prostitute, is a play about racism in southern USA. The poor woman who moved from New York, is embroiled in a situation where she has to sigh a false document to protect a white man at the expense of the life of a black man. She does try to protect the man, but to no avail.
