Travis (USA: GA) (2009/10/02): I actually wasn't the greatest fan of this one. I thought Fight Club and Invisible Monsters were both better. But hey, still a good read by America's favorite nihilist.
tnkerbelle13 (USA: PA) (2010/06/02): Chuck Palahniuk is my favorite author, and until "Pygmy" and "Snuff" were released, I would have said that this was my least favorite of his books. I feel that Survivor doesn't have the complexity and doesn't pack as much of a punch as his other works. That being said, compared to other non-Palahniuk books, this book is still OUTSTANDING. Palahniuk's main manipulative in this novel became the time line, showing the reader a story in reverse. Tender Branson is not Palahniuk's most fascinating or groundbreaking character, but he's got an interesting perspective. Also, I feel that, out of all of Palahniuk's works, this is the book that lends itself most to movie format after "Fight Club" ("Choke" was a surprising film choice in my opinion). I give this book 4 1/2 stars out of 5, mainly because it's still a great book written by my favorite author, even if it isn't one of his best. It's certainly not his worst!!!
