I tried to like this book, but I just didn't. I only got through the first two stories. I've had it a long time, and if I haven't read it by now, despite multiple attempts, I'm just not going to read it. I can't pinpoint why I couldn't get into it, it just wasn't my thing. I seem to have an aversion to most of the Man Booker winners and finalists. I will vomit if I try to force myself through one more Roddy Doyle book. Anyway, maybe somebody else will like this better than I did.
