Fresh out of the military, widower Joe Diaz is determined to raise his young son alone. But his next-door neighbor Meg McGuire has set her sights on the same house--and teaching job-- as Joe! He's all about family now, not romantic entanglements, and he won't give up without a fight. But what about little Davy, who's growing more attached to Miss Meg every day? Or Joe, who finds himself dreaming of a home and family with the one woman in town who could take it all away?

Dreaming of Home by Glynna Kaye
Book 1 Canyon Springs, Arizona Series
In the fictional town of Canyon Springs, Arizona up in the White Mountains is where we meet our hero's and heroines in this series. Beginning with hometown hunk and hero Joe Diaz and the newcomer Meg McGuire who has quickly snuck into the hearts of the townspeople.

Meg is hoping to get a job as a Science teacher. Her Aunt June grew up in Canyon Springs and told her the stories of the small town and of going to a small school versus the Phoenix area Meg grew up in. And when her Aunt's old house came on the market she was sure that her dreams would come true and God had definitely led her to this place. That was before the handsome Joe Diaz and his young son Davy came into town...with Joe wanting the same job and the same house for his own. Meg knew how short life could be and how quickly it could change, could she give up her dreams to see this father and son live theirs?

Joe left the Navy to take his son Davy back to his hometown and to get to know his grandpa, Bill. After his wife, Selena, died it was easier for Joe to leave Davy with her parents and go back to the sea where things were familiar but something came up that called him to step up and be a father to his son. He came home expecting everything to be handed to him as the hometown hero but a petite firecracker stood in his way. Can these two find a way to work things out or will the fear from their pasts destroy their future?
