Marianne (Australia) (2015/12/28): Rocky and the Senator’s Daughter by American author, Dixie Browning, is a book in the Man of the Month series. Sarah Mariah Sullivan nee Jones was trying to put her life back together in the remote farmhouse Aunty Em left her. She had stood behind her father as he faced corruption allegations (of which he was indeed guilty), followed soon after by a sex scandal involving her husband. Now her husband was dead and being out of the public eye was very important to her.Roland Waters, ex-journalist, had just about come to terms with his wife, Julie’s death after years of care due to a brain injury. When he became aware, at a rare social function, of a new book exposing her husband’s shocking affairs, he feels he must warn her. As a young journalist, he had met the teenaged Sarah at one of her father’s fund-raisers, and been taken by the young woman’s plight. Would she believe that Rocky was genuine, and not out to get himself an exclusive? This is a sweet romance: the characters are appealing, their banter is enjoyable, there are some laugh-out-loud moments as well as a few hot bedroom scenes, and the plot doesn’t go exactly where expected, but there is still a happily ever after in store for the pair. A delightful read.
