Three Mothers and a Cradle is an omnibus of linked stories by Jill Marie Landis, Debbie Macomber and Gina Ferris Wilkins.
Cradle Song, by Jill Marie Landis, is the first of the Three Mothers and a Cradle trilogy and is set in the early settlement days of Washington State. Adam Stroud pays an exorbitant pride for an amnesiac white captive, aiming to find her family and return her to them. But Sarah, as he names her, has other ideas. By the time her identity is finally discovered, they are deeply in love and will soon be in need of a cradle.
Rock-a-bye-Baby, by Debbie Macomber, is the second of the Three Mothers and a Cradle trilogy and is set in the small town of Ocean Shores, Washington. When John Osborn’s mother, Mamie, employed an assistant for his antique store, he wasn’t at all happy about it. Dani Beckman dressed far too unconventionally, and John was certain she wouldn’t last much past the summer months. But Dani was determined to prove him wrong. She was recovering from a broken heart, and had found living in Ocean Shores soothed her pain. She had talent as a window dresser and saleswoman, and his business prospered. Dani had fallen in love with the antique cradle in the storeroom, and eventually, with the antique store owner as well.
Beginnings, by Gina Ferris Wilkins, is the third in the Three Mothers and a Cradle trilogy. When Delia Beckman answers the door to find a large parcel on (very nice bare brown)legs, she has no idea that her downstairs neighbour, the rather gorgeous Lane Conley, is actually interested in her. She is sure she’s much too dull and boring for him. But someone calm like Delia is just who Lane is looking for in his hectic life. Eventually, Delia accepts that Lane is genuinely interested in her, but she is still unsure she can fit in with his political aspirations. And the cradle? When she finally needs one, her sister Dani sends the antique cradle she used for her son, and Lane and Delia make an unexpected discovery.
Three enjoyable romances by three well-known authors.
