Product Description
Katie McBride is the child of actors and has moved constantly throughout her life. Her parents have died and she lives with her brother in San Francisco and works as a seamstress. Her brother works in a saloon.
Quentin Sterling is a rich San Franciscan who is saved from ruffians by Katie's brother. Katie tends Sterling's wounds and is very attracted to him but believes she will never see him again.
Katie is selected to sew Quentin's sister's bridal gown and she lives in the Sterling house on Nob hill so that the dress can be sewn as quickly as possible. She and Quentin meet again and they share conversations and dinner but not much happens between this couple until Katie is attacked by Quentin's cousin. Quentin comes to her rescue and Katie is exceedingly grateful.
Quentin is in town to find a wife and he believes Katie will be a good one. Quentin does not live in San Francisco but in Wyoming on a large ranch and when he asks Katie to marry him she jumps at the chance to begin a different life, one with roots.
