Reviews: Tammie (Australia) (2006/11/06):
Literary Fiction. "My name was Salmon, like the fish; first name, Susie. I was fourteen when I was murdered on December 6, 1973. My murderer was a man from our neighbourhood. My mother liked his border flowers, and my father talked to him once about fertilizer."

Lauren (Australia) (2008/04/26):
Read it in one day, the day it arrived in the mail - I really enjoyed this. Such a different story, I'm not sure this soon after reading it how to put it in to words! I don't want to read anything again right now, I just want to let Susie sit with me a while. :)

Jennifer (USA: LA) (2008/04/29):
Extremely disappointed. Couldn't wait to get rid of my copy.

Jirinka (United Kingdom) (2009/08/12):
Absolutely loved it. The book got me from the first sentence. Murder story told by the victim herself as she watches the lives of her family friends and her murderer change with years to come. I loved this book. After I read this I got Alice Sebold's book Lucky and now waiting to read her newest The Almost Moon.
I love Alice's frank reality, sometimes very morbid but hey these things actually really happen in this world. Well worth reading.

Halez (USA: MS) (2009/10/14):
This book sucked me in! It made me think alot about what would happen to my family if I died. Or my parents or sisters. It really makes you think about life. Makes you appreciate life a little bit more. I recommend it to anyone who likes to read xD i give it a 5 out of 5

Kathy Arkwright (United Kingdom) (2010/06/20):
Brilliant and unusual murder mystery with the murder first of a 14yr.old girl and then her story from 'heaven'. Beautifully written, didn't want to put the book down until I had finished it. Recommended read.

Mel (Germany) (2010/09/20):
The book was fantastic!
I enjoyed the movie, watched it earlier this year and had to read the book.
Wasn't disappointed at all, couldn't put it down.

It's so hard to say you like books like these. It's not the situation it's the story that is intriguing. A few of my friends didn't like the way that it ended, I didn't care for that too much but at least Mr. Harvey didn't got his. Not like I pictured but still. They were also put off by Susie's depiction of heaven which I thought was cool. Especially, her heaven and then the "big heaven" it's right on point with what most of them have been taught anyway, so why they didn't like it I don't know. The only part that threw me off was her coming back for sex...didn't quite get that one. I would think I would use that opportunity to say I'm ok, don't worry..look for the safe lol. But who knows really?
