Tikay (USA: CA) (2011/03/08): This book appears to be more for the fourteen and older set, I would think. The reviews in amazon indicate the writing is good and the issues around a fifteen year old girls father being killed violently at the 7-11 are far reaching. I am writing this review to send you to the amazon reviews as this book may be controversial. More than that, I would say it may be a bit convoluted for anyone as young as nine or ten. At the very least go check reviews on this books topics, before just giving the book to a younger child.

More than that, I would say it may be a bit convoluted for anyone as young as nine or ten, even if they read well, for more maturity may be in order with this subject matter. At the very least go check other reviews on this book before giving the book to a younger child, who has advanced reading skills.
