I enjoyed this book. It's a quick, light read, very honest and funny. If this were just a book about cooking it would be really dull. But it's really a description of a year in the life of an everyday woman driven to do something mildly insane (as she readily admits) and tell the world about it. The parts I enjoyed the most actually had nothing to do with being in the kitchen. Julie Powell brings to life an eccentric cast of friends, family, coworkers, and blog readers (she calls them her "bleaders") as well as her own personal version of Julia Child.
