When Stephanie turns to her friend and mentor, Ranger, for financial advice, he gets her involved in a gang of toughs doing instant evictions for landlords. (She complains to Ranger about the job and its dangers, prompting one of the hired thug to say, "Man, you don't like to get shot. You don't like to get arrested. You don't know how to have fun at all.")

Most of Stephanie's charm, of course, comes from her attitude--a combination of the brazen bravado that turns a failed lingerie model into a bounty hunter in the first place and the normal fears of a person in over her head.

Fifth in the Stephanie Plum series. I wonder if I'm ever going to get tired of these? Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I probably wouldn't give it an A, simply because a book needs to do more than entertain to really hit the "A" level in my personal, completely subjective grading system. However, I love that Stephanie's world has moved forward from the 1980's to the 1990's, seemingly without taking much time at all.

This book is definitely used. The front cover has been cut in the upper right hand corner, there is a stamp on the inside with someone's name and phone number, yet it is smudged, the binding is broke in the middle, yet it is still very readable. No pages torn or missing. Great book! Great series!

I love the antics of Stephanie Plum! (Bounty hunter or Bond Enforcement Agent.) Janet Evanovich has a pun or a giggle in every line. I am always waiting to see how Stephanie Plum avoids yet another catastrophe!
