This is the second Alison McGhee book I've read. I really enjoyed this book; Clara is a quirky, intelligent word girl seeking knowledge. She and an elderly neighbor are brought together by an oral history project. Georg, her elderly friend, helps her learn a little about his past (the rest she makes up) and about herself. She's on a quest to learn about her baby sister, father and grandfather. Will they match up to the stories she's made up surrounding them?
