Product Description
Humor can help you thrive in change, remain creative under pressure, work more effectively, play more enthusiastically, and stay healthier in the process. But humor is also a set of specific, learned skills, and like any other discipline, these skills need to be developed. Lighten Up shows you how to build these skills so that you can see the absurdity in difficult situations and take yourself lightly while you take your job, problem, or challenge seriously.

Jessica (USA: NY) (2009/07/26): Lighten Up takes a serious view on the critical need to use humor to improve health and decrease stress (especially work-related). Metcalf coins the term terminally professional, for those who take their work so seriously that their health is aversely affected.Readers who like to study the role of humor in health (think Patch Adams) may like this book, as well as those who just want to consider how to learn to be lighter and less tense in their own lives. I particularly liked the story of Sylvie Washington, whom at 101 the author called "the most humerous and mentally energetic person I have met to date".
