Product Description
Look at me! I"m white! I"m white!" screamed the little girl in the rear of the Greyhound bus. It was a plaintive cry but only a few mildly curious people glanced back at the child - those who did saw Black Alice . This is a powerful suspense novel based on an ingenious plot to wrest a fortune from an eleven-year-old heiress. Blonde Alice is kidnapped in Baltimore; she reappears in Norfolk as the black-faced, kinky-haired niece of Negro Bessie McKay

Theophanes (USA: ME) (2009/02/06): I picked up this book in a used bookstore merely because I was horrified by the cover alone. I figured someone collecting black history memrobelia might appreciate it. Otherwise it's just politically incorrect and offensive. It has its paperjacket intact but the bottom part (where the paper jacket goes over the binding) is ripped. The pages are pristine though and so's the actual book (minus the paper jacket.)
