Osborne's Answers! series aims to provide help desk-style support in the format of a book. This style works surprisingly well in the case of Access 97 Answers!, which serves as both a problem-solving reference and as a means to improve your overall Access skills.
The fact that Access uses tables, forms, queries, reports, and automation tools may help lend a kind of inexorable logic to a problem-solving scheme. As in other volumes in the series, Access 97 Answers! has a very comprehensive question-and-answer format, an exceptionally large topic and word index, and an "action index" that slices the book up in task-sized portions. It's an effective, well-executed scheme that offers a high degree of relevance and accuracy. If you're the sort of user who likes to learn by jumping into the software and picking up skills as you go, this book is a worthy companion to bring on your quest.
