Joby (Canada) (2008/09/01): From back cover: Some marriages are made in heaven.... Some are not. What happens when "the happiest day of your life" turns into a nightmare? Forget the drunken best man or the bridesmaid dresses from the '80s... none of these wedding day disasters can compare to a cursed bride determined to make it down the aisle, or a vampire who is about to disrupt your wedding. ~*~ This novel is composed of 4 short stories: Till Death by Maggie Shayne Years ago, a heartbroken McLellan witch placed a curse on the would-be brides of her family. But Kira McLellan doesn't believe in curses. Then she falls in love with Ian Stewart and is determined to break the spell... or die trying. Happily Never After by Jeaniene Frost To save her brother, Isabella is about to reluctantly walk down the aisle with Mr. Dangerously Wrong... unless Chance, a dashing vampire, can derail this wedding of the beauty to the beast. Ghouls Night Out by Terri Garey Nicki Styx sees dead people. Worse, she's a replacement bridesmaid forced to wear a hideously yellow dress. If only the chatty ghost of the original bridesmaid will just leave her alone, Nicki may survive this ceremony yet. The Wedding Knight by Kathryn Smith Payen Carr has reappeared at a most inconvenient time: on the eve of Violet's wedding. But Payen desperately needs her help, for his immortal life is suddenly at stake... and Violet's mortal one as well. I did not read Ghouls Night Out as it is written in first person and I don't like that style for romance novels. The other three were okay. The Wedding Knight would have been better as a full novel. I felt the characters did not get to express themselves fully in the short story. Till Death was a ghost story. Happily Never After was my favorite, though I thought the heroine did not stay true to herself at the end.
bookfairies (USA: CO) (2008/10/26): I enjoyed the first three stories, I didn't finsh the last one because I got bored with the first chapter. Bones makes an appearance in Frost's story and Nicki Styx is in Garey's.
