FIRST LINES: My fall from suburban grace, or, more accurately, my failure to achieve the merest molehill of suburban grace from which to fall, began w/ a dinner party & a perfectly innocent, modestly clever, & only faintly quirky remark about Armand Assante.COMMENTS: 01/10/08 -- rec via harper collins 1st look ARC program. Unique but recognizable characters. Set in a suburb of Philly, Corneila & Teo are newcomers from the city. They don't have children...yet. They've been trying and no success. The rest of the neighbors are for the most part upper middle class, husband a professional, wife is full-time mother, children go to private school, etc. The story is about the varied characters -- making connections, forming bonds, fitting in & figuring out where they belong.
