I loved this story. The historical setting (1922 Berlin) is amazing (crazy inflation, corrupt government, exiled Russian nobility, debauchery, murder, desperation, and maybe the Grand Duchess Anastasia). The main characters have realistic depth in their efforts to remain kind and just, and their disbelief at Hitler's rise to power.
