Books that weigh more than 350g will generally only be sent internationally if they are mooched along with one or more additional books (and only within Europe). I no longer wrap books in plastic when I send them (but in sturdy brown paper with lots of tape). However, if you live somewhere where the postal service likes to let packages get wet please let me know and I will add a layer of plastic. My books come from a smoke free environment, but are likely to have been in close contact with a cat at some point. Quite a few of my books were also bought secondhand, but I try to give as accurate a description as possible of their condition. If there are no condition notes it means that the book is in very good condition. Pretty stamps make me happy, so, assuming that there are others like me out there, I will use a selection of stamps with photos of Norwegian wildlife when I send out books. UPDATE: I still like pretty stamps, but the Norwegian postal service has now added an extra fee if you don't fill out the customs labels and pay your postage online. So unfortunately, my packages will no longer feature pretty stamps.
