re: Desktop app: BookMoocher

@AllyBally - no, I wasn't referring to the recently posted list in Italy specifically, just everyone worldwide using the recently posted list. I think the US version of Recently Posted and the RSS has been available for a year or so, and that's when I started noticing much fewer wishlisted books available. (Anecdotal evidence only, and nothing to do with Italians doing anything.) It's just that this app makes it even easier for people to 'snipe' books away from those who have them on their wishlists.

re: Desktop app: BookMoocher

NancyW, I couldn't agree more - in fact, I thought of posting a comment when I first read about this app along the lines of "oh great, even less chance that any of us are going to ever get our wishlisted books again," but restrained myself.

Nothing negative intended against Luca, who has just taken the available information and made a neat little app that people can use. But I do think that the availability of this info via RSS and RSS-enabled stuff has changed the bookmooch dynamic, and not for the better. Speaking for myself, I haven't gotten a wishlisted book in months - there are several reasons for that, probably, but I believe that this 'recently posted' list is one of the factors.
