re: Sorry for the interruption!

Thanks for all the hard work, John. I especially appreciated the updated messages on the website so we knew what was going on and weren't left wondering.

re: BM was unavailable

John, thanks for the hard work and keeping us informed. I agree with what Jade says about an offsite way of informing us when things are not working. But now we're back online, I can get my fix.....thanks!

re: New 'Forgot your password' feature

John, thanks for all your hard work. This might also help with those people who can't get into their accounts because of a forgotten password and then set up a completely new account with the same inventory. There are so many passwords we have to remember nowadays, it's great to have this fall-back. Thanks again!

re: Book ads coming

Sounds like win/win/win. Moochers get ideas for books they might want; BookMooch gets some revenue; publishers might sell some more books. And I like that we can opt out. Thanks for all your hard work and good ideas, John!

re: Feedback +0.1 no longer

People, it's done: get over it already. We were warned, so stop whinging! People who left feedback before will still leave it. People who had to be reminded to mark a book received won't change, points or not.
A big thanks to John for everything he does to make this site so great.

re: Not much junk on BM

What's that saying about trash & treasure? Books I have somehow acquired but would never read sometimes sit there for ages and then get mooched. Who can predict what others want to read? There are books I've looked at and thought of removing and, in a sort of Murphy's Law event, they are suddenly mooched. The books in my inventory are sitting in boxes in my study: they're alphabetically sorted by author. They're not in my way, so I'll leave them on my inventory: who knows when someone might want one.
And when I suddenly discover another author I like and want books from their backlist, I'm grateful someone else on BookMooch has done the same and I can mooch what I want.
I don't think there's too much junk on BookMooch. Maybe sometimes even there's not enough..................

re: Followup 2: intl mooch ratio change

I've been BookMoohing since September 2006. I love BookMooch! I'm grateful to John for setting it up and for all the hard work he's done to keep it going. I don't understand all the economics, but it makes sense that the system will fall down if everyone mooches more than they send. Lately my finances don't allow me to send as many overseas, but I've sent a lot of books overseas since I started and I think it would be hard to get my ratio up to 2 from where it is now, so I don't foresee any problems in getting books I want, for the time being. As far as I'm concerned, John's still the boss of BookMooch, and what he says goes. The fact that he wants feedback from us all is great, but he can't act on every little whinge (translation: complaint) that we have. I'm going to go with the flow, folks. Marianne in Australia

re: Wishlist bug fixes

Yay, now my wishlist is finally sorting by count and then surname of author (instead of first name of author, as it was doing). I'm happy now we can show up to 2000 on the wishlist and I still like to Show All Copies, in case I decide to get someone to Angel one for me, or just BEG the person to consider sending to my country (sometimes this works!) Thank you John for all the hard work. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
And now nothing to do with wishlists. When I search for Austen and refine to My Country, I see 1 copy of Emma but it's in Austria, not Australia.....weird!
Thanks again for everything!

re: More wishlist changes

I think all the changes are great. Just, now when you look at someone else's wishlist, the link to their bio page isn't there any more. Used to be you could click on their name at the top of the page and it would take you to their bio page. Am I missing something?
