Message from Bookmooch:

This member has reported some, but not all, recent events related to her account activity to several other members, this is the full version:

She closed her original account and later opened a new one. Several members noticed this and reported her to 'abuse' as it appeared to them she might be trying to evade ratio limits, as her original account had taken twice as many international book as sent, and was on the way to being blocked due to ratio limits if her pattern were to have continued. There had also been more than one abuse complaint made to the original account shortly prior to her closing it.

When we notified her that we were giving her the benefit of the doubt and re-opening her original account with the hope she would work towards more equal trading, she was not able to assure us she would work in that direction. She sent a series of e-mails which were taken to be unfriendly by the admin helping her, and so another admin stepped in as both sides were not acting as politely as they might have. At this time she shared a partial explanation of her sentiments with some other members, not a full account of the many e-mails exchanged on both sides, nor all of her original account history.

So there have been no penalties of any kind, she can use her original account. A single book was sent from her new account, and an adjustment will be made for that when the book arrives. We just hope she will please work towards trading more equally in future, and not again open another account if any problems were to arise.

Sites which depend on feedback, track member complaints, and have ratio limits, such as Bookmooh does, will all ask members to stay with their original accounts rather then trying to start again with a new account. While this member had appeared to have done this to some, we have taken her word that this was not her intent, but rather she had just not thought to ask us about opening her old account as we have now done. This is what other members have done in the past when wishing a return. Please don't issue further complaints against her account for this as some continue to do, kindly just allow her a fresh start.
