Status message:
Most of my books are used. I buy them at garage sales, thrift stores, the library's annual book sale, etc. They might stink, or have torn covers, have somebody's name written in them, or bear scribbles bestowed by my toddler. If you're really picky about condition, be aware that I don't treat my books like limited-edition Beanie Babies. I don't smoke in my house, but I cannot vouch for previous owners. I do have a cat but he doesn't rub against my books. He's really more of a reclusive roommate. I am not in the habit of exposing my books to peanuts or shellfish. You may find the occasional hastily wiped smudge of salsa, although this tends to happen more often to library books, of course. I will say specifically that most of my sci-fi was found when I hit the mother-lode in a small-town thrift store. The condition of the books seems to indicate that they were boxed up and stored in a garage or a barn for at least ten years.
Please have patience with me if it takes a while for me to mail you a book. I work during the day, and I have a 3-yr old who makes trips to the post office a bit of a challenge. Let's just say standing in line quietly is not her thing. I tend to go about once a month and send everything at the same time. If you absolutely must have your book immediately, feel free to send me an email saying how you don't mean to be a jerk, but you kinda need it for your mom's birthday or whatever and I will make an exception.
