Status message: NO FURTHER BOOKS WILL BE SENT OUT UNTIL THE END OF MAY. If you are willing to wait until then, go ahead and mooch. In principle, I will usually send anywhere in the world, and have often done so up to now, BUT ASK FIRST. I send regular paperbacks to most countries, by air mail, depending on weight and cost of postage (P.O. clerk was shocked to learn that there is still such a thing as "surface mail"). Postage to the U.S. shall be more expensive than to most of Europe, the U.K.,Canada and even Singapore. Therefore thick/hardcover books will, as a rule, no longer be sent to the U.S. Heavier books & hard cover editions can be a budgetary constraint, depends on the weight of the book and the state of my exchequer at the time. BUT ASK, ANYHOW. N.B. It can take a up to 2 or 3 weeks (or more) until I send out the book(s)because I have to bring them to the post office at my place of work (two buses and a bit of a walk). Consider mooching two books at a time, to save time and (sometimes) postage. INTERNATIONAL MOOCHES: Please ask me first; if I can, I will, but ASK ASK ASK FIRST! Bio: I read almost anything in print (or even reasonable handwriting, and have now surrendered to Kindle for travel abroad) in 3 or 4 languages; born (1935) in Vienna, WW II refugee to U.S.A. through lots of Europe, and thence to Israel. No formal profession, but a great variety of jobs, including (not necessarily in that order) kindergarten teacher, model, bookkeeper, dressmaker, personal secretary to a foreign ambassador, translator/editor, journalist, psychiatric nurse's aide, exercise instructor, medical secretary, research assistant, volunteer cop ... The attached photo is of a cat encountered in Taranguire, Tanzania, where she presumably still remains. There are no fauna in my house, as far as I know.
