Update: 12 November 2017: East Bay Children's Book Project has a new home!

We are looking for books for kids of all ages, but books for younger ages are most needed. We need board books, picture books, early readers, beginning chapter books, chapter books, books for middle and high schoolers, nonfiction, activity books, reference books, and more. Books by authors of color and/or with covers depicting people of color are always appropriate and appreciated.

We are sorry but we cannot take textbooks, religious books, used library books, or books that are in poor condition. Other than that, we need just about any kind of book for children and young adults.

Our Mission
The East Bay Children’s Book Project helps build literacy by putting books into the hands of children who have little or no access to them. Working through individuals and organizations who help children in need, we have given out more than a million free books since opening our doors in May 2005.
