Bio:
Beginning November 1, 2008, I am asking if you choose to mooch that you pick at least two books (higher would be terrific). I am on a very limited income (disability and already have a 2nd mortgage that I am paying for medical bills and in order for me to continue on this site, unfortunately, I must do this. Since Oct. 11, I have been in the hospital 4 times and a total of eight days.

I am not sure if I can continue to be here and I have noticed some other people leaving the site. I am wondering if it has to do with the cost to ship books?

I came up with a semi-solution. If people would try to mooch at least two items from the same person, it dramatically reduces the total over-all shipping cost (maybe you could ask friends to join with you under one account even) an extra book averages only about 20 -25% more when packaged together (using Media Mail).
I have tried to do this to spread my points around to others too when I mooch. This way everyone benefits. In one situation, I had the same person mooch 5 or 6 different books over several months (while I am glad they liked dealing with me) one at a time, that cost me about an extra $12 or so dollars, than if they had mooched them together since many of the books were posted all of the same time. I want to continue sharing books this seems like an economical way to remain here and still buy food, gas and more books to read then share.
I try to add new books about every two weeks (most I get from inexpensive sources) and some are just books I haven't even read & probably won't so thought, why not pass them along.
I don't want to leave the site - since people have shared many wonderful things with me.

I love books. I write, teach and I'm in the process of starting a charity.
I have had many great experiences here.
I try:
1) to list the condition of each item,
2)I don't ship the WRONG ISBN. What you request is what you will be receiving.
3)My books come from a variety of sources, so I can't guarantee they will be smoke free - however, I am asthmatic, so if I get one, I try remember to post this since it is such an issue in my own life.
4)I have Yorkies (the lowest allergic breed available), however, I rarely see them reading my stuff (especially if the topic isn't discussing squirrels)
5)I do not post Advanced Reading Copies, if I order one please cancel.
Please verify your ISBN before mailing, lately I have been getting many wrong books.

The postage rates have increased, so significantly to countries outside North America, I can not honor requests ANYWHERE other than U.S., Canada or Mexico. I MAIL ABOUT 1 or 2 TIMES a WEEK - so you should get what you ordered pretty quickly - depending on postal response! The bigger the number requested, the quicker I will mail them that way you get rewarded for picking out extra books.

Due to increasing cost of living, book requests may be subject to delay of a week so I can better allocate my funds, once I use up my book mailing allowance, I may need to wait two weeks or so - I will definitely let you know so as not to inconvenience you, I will even try to post it on the site regularly.

Addendum:
It has come to the point, I am no longer purchasing required life necessities, such as asthma 6 months, diabetes (1 month) or arthritis medications (3 months) and next month my pain meds may not be affordable, it is now becoming a concern regarding food and my auto insurance semi-annual payment is due.
I take my sharing on this site very seriously.
I fully understand if this doesn't work for you. Believe I am not happy about the situation.
