Status message:
Timing: I try to send items within a week. When I accept your mooch, it has been packed, has postage, and mailing is imminent. After that, please email me before canceling.

Condition: Books come from my non-smoking household. Most are very good to near fine. Some were used when I got them and are good to very good plus. I try to put condition notes on my books, but have been known to miss some. I am happy to answer questions, so please ask if you need or want more info.

Hi, I'm Cheryl. I love books. I like hard science fiction, time travel fiction, general fiction, and non-fiction on the subjects of science, mathematics, meditation, Buddhism, yoga, anatomy, language, cooking, and roleplaying.

IMPORTANT If I have mooched from you:
I have asthma with smoke, some perfumes, and mildew as major triggers. If you send me a book with smoke, perfume, or mildew damage and there was no way I could have figured this out from your listing, bio, or follow-up correspondence, I will be unhappy. You have a perfect right to smoke, and your books are no doubt still good books; they are not good for me. If your books are smoke-saturated, perfume-saturated, mildewed, or musty, they could threaten my health. It makes me sad when such a thing happens, because I have to throw out or recycle books that may be perfectly good for someone else. I list common allergens my books are exposed to on my status message to help prospective moochers. Please consider doing the same.

The speed of shipping method is usually not important to me when receiving books. Media mail and international surface shipping are just fine as far as I am concerned. I am usually willing to accept shipping delays, especially in the case of rare or desirable books. As I see it, BookMooch is not about instant book gratification...it's about shared passion and making room for new books. Email contact and information about when to expect a book is very much appreciated, especially if you will not be mailing a book within a week or so!
