UPDATE: March 2016

I have currently not shipping books outside the US, but hope to resume again soon.

BOOK CONDITION
When I listed all the books I can trade, I was uploading a database, so I did not input any conditions. I think it is safe to say all my books are in fair to good condition; many are in excellent condition.

If I am offering an ex-library book, one can generally assume the following condition:

Good condition but an ex-library book. The book probably has the following signs of its ex-library status: 1) “Withdrawn” stamps; 2) call # stickers on the spine and other signs like “do not remove from library” or “reference book” also likely; 3) barcode stickers which have been removed in front/back covers; 4) places where the name of the library withdrawing the book has been crossed out.

Please contact me if you have a question about a specific book's condition, and I'm happy to try to give more specifics. Thanks.

AVAILABILITY OF BOOKS
I have listed my books on more than one trading site and while I make every effort to remove books from this inventory when they are requested on another site, ocassional omissions could happen (and indeed have happened,to my embarrassment). (Or it has happened that one person on both sites has requested the same book at the same time. Then I go with whichever request I received first.) I apologise in advance in this happens.

SHIPPING OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES

There are some books I have learned from experience are just too large and too heavy (i.e. hardcovers, oversize paperbacks) to send overseas to make it worth it. Unlike many countries, the USPS does not have an overseas book/media rate or parcel post, which means pretty much anything over a pound has to be sent priority mail. Hence there are some books I just cannot send overseas; I have tried to mark them clearly as "WILL ONLY SHIP TO USA" or something similar. Thank you for your understanding.

I would prefer to only ship books outside the US to bookmooch members that are also willing to ship outside their own country also.

Also in regards to sending books all over the world: please do ask me. Especially with smaller paperbacks, I am willing to send them overseas. When sending overseas I would prefer to send either 1 book or to send 3-4 of the smaller paperbacks. It costs the same to send 3-4 paperbacks, so one might as well get the benefit of the cost. Two books costs a lot, almost the same as 3 or 4, so I would honestly prefer 1 mooched paperback, or 4 mooched paperbacks, if at all possible. (I may refuse if only mooching 2).

Larger paperbacks and hardcovers I am little more hesitant due to the increasing costs of U.S. Postage and that there are no options on ways to send books outside the U.S. (i.e. no printed matter or book rates, only air-mail, priority or express); I have tried to be clear when I posted the book, if I will not ship it to the US. I have tried to note in the description that I am not willing to send outside the US, but may have missed a few; sorry but some are just too cost-prohibitive to send. But please feel free to ask, most of the time I suspect I'll be happy to do so, as I want to trade as many books as I can and am equally appreciative of those who send books to me from outside the U.S.

Because I am willing to send smaller (mass market) paperbacks I have kept my status as "ask me; I will send small and hard-to-find books," - but see above notes regarding larger/hardcover books.

PACKAGING MATERIALS
In an effort to be eco-friendly as well as cost-efficient I always use and re-use materials, provided they are in reasonably good and clean condition and seem that they will "do the job." I try to package them well, nonetheless, and cannot help it when packages get ripped up in transit. Thank you for your understanding.

COMMUNICATION
I try to be very prompt about answering any e-mails; if you have not heard from me in a few days please feel free to e-mail me again. Though there is a chance I am swamped and have not had a chance to respond, more likely the e-mail has disappeared into spam/bulk folders (which I do not check very often).
